Default RE: Track

I couldn't agree more. Don't take it too seriously, remember to relax cause your nerves will be running away and ur ***** will be in your throat when you pull up threw the water box and you will see everyone looking at you anticipating you to light the tires. Just look straight ahead and don't make any eye contact if not needed. I am so close to finishing my car that I can't stand it. I can't wait untill I have the oppurtunity to line it up again on the tree and get it on. You may also find that your car won't hook as well at the track as it does on the street, I have seen it before many times. Leave on the third yellow after you see it, try not to anticipate when it lights up and leave at that point cause you will probly be leaving a little to early and get the big fat RED light. Take my advice and trailer it the track. I drove about 80 miles on time in my 85 and I had the sticky's in the back. I got their and swapped my tires around and commenced to making passes. At the end of the day, I was really getting brave and launched at 4500 or so and it broke the bellhousing, cracked the T5 case and to add insult to injury, as I was coming down the return road I was seeing smoke come threw the air vents and was like huh wtf is that. It started burning my nose a lil bit, I pulled over in the cool down area, popped the hood and found my battery on top of my Alt. The Alt. fan chewed a huge hole in my battery. One costly trip to the track, I even babied the car home after one of the track officials took me to the Zone and picked up a new battery.
