Default RE: Question

the stock pistons have circular depressions cast into them. They are there for clearance between the valves and the piston. If you use a cylinder head with valves that are larger than 1.84-1.9"/1.54=1.6", you would not have enough room for the valve to open up into the piston at the end of the exhaust stroke/begining of the intake stroke.

yes, to a certain extent.. it has more to do with the cam duration than the lift... but it is mostly dependant on the size of the valves in the heads

Default RE: Question

It's really hard to find a job anywhere lately now that the economy is starting to tighten up.

In case you're wondering what notched pistons look like, these are aftermarket, Mahle to be precise.

Don't mind the finger, it was for pointing out ring end gap.
