old gunky oil in motor
hey guys,
Ibought a motor to put in my car to keep me happy while I build my other motor. my question is I am checking everything out before I put the motor in and it doesn't look like they ever changed the oil in this thing. is there any way to clean everything up without tearing it all down. I am new to doing motorwork so please bear with me guys I will have many more questions to come. thanks again

RE: old gunky oil in motor
i bought the car and come to find out the motor was in bad need of a rebuild ( didn't know ) so I yanked it to rebuild. I found this motor fairly cheap so I bought it to thow in to drive around while I take my time and build my other motor right. It is going to take awhile to build it the way I want to.

drain the oil and change the filter. Then put 4 quarts of 10 w40 and one quart of atf transmision fluid. drive it for a week then change the oil and filter again and just use oil. Don't use salt water.
