I have a 5.0L w/ a c-4 in a ford ranger I'm not sure of the year, though. My grand father installed it and has since passed on. Anyways, lately it has been stuttering occasionally and has died on me goin down the road. Would anyone be able to tell me if this might be due to the computer? If so, could I replace it with a computer from a stang with a manual trans? Any assistance would be greatly apprecieated!

 

We need a bit more info that what you have given us. Is this an EFI system, carb, any aftermarket parts on the motor.... details my friend.... details

Start by replacing the TFI module on the side of the distributor.

try also running a koeo/koer test and check for codes if none exist try what ADDER STATED

 

Has it been tuned up or the plugs changed?
