Is this normal ground clearance for a Bassani X?

I've only got about 3" of clearance tops after putting my catted Bassani X on my 89 today. I had a Bassani X on my old GT & don't recall it hanging this low. The cat-back will be gone in favor of dumps after inspection so I'm hoping it will be higher, but I'm not countong it.

I don't think i would drive that car like that...that is not right. Looks like your cat back isn't right...like the front tubes are rotated down. What do you have for a catback? Can you loosen your cat back up, jack it all up, then re tighten it?

ususally you keep header pipes loose and use a screw jack to push the back of x or h pipe up close to body then tighten down header connection...if your caTBACK WON'T ALLOW IT.. YOU may have to cut out some of the flow tubes

My Prochamber has a similar problem if you just bolt it up. Try this, losen all the bolts and jack up the X pipe as high as you can get it without damaging anything. Then tighten down all the bolts, when you remove the jack it should stay in place higher up.

Do what a few have already said. Loosen everything up and then put a jack under it and get it really close to the body without damaging anything. That is one reason I like my Mac H pipe, it comes in 3 pieces so there is room for adjustment.
