EFI v carb

RE: EFI v carb
It depends on how it's setup. Generally speaking, carburetion has an advantage in power producing that comes from emulsification/atomisation/vaporization, EFI will meter fuel better at lower rpm and can maintain a more consistant AFR. Ultimately each system has to be setup properly for the vehicle it's on.

No it's not. Anything that can go wrong with a carb can go wrong with EFI, clogged injectors/jets, clogged filters, throttle linkage failure etc. But EFI adds a lot of wiring and sensors into the equation, any 1 of which failing can cause the car to run poorly, or not at all. You also have a computer that can get damaged or short, or have individual components fail. Carburetion is far, FAR more reliable than EFI is just by virture of being much simpler. The problem with carburetion is that unlike EFI, it won't tune itself to preset perameters, the guy tuning it has to set it up right, and if it's not set up right then it won't run right, ever. If the jets are wrong, the choke is wrong, the accelerator pump is wrong, then it won't start right, won't run right, will have poor throttle response etc.
EFI wins on mileage 9/10 times though, and always wins on emissions.

old school says carbs are better. im an efi guy, but from what i have heard from people, impartial or not, carbs tend to be faster, they will make some more hp. they are able to flow more air from the intake design. the efi will be close, maby a 1th or 2 behind, but still behind. the efi wins in the mpg and emission race, the carb has to be fat on the low end to have enough fuel for the top end, the efi can be tuned to whatever is best throught the whole rpm range.
i like efi, i dont know crap about carbs, so i stuck to efi.

i love carbs, and i have been messing with them for 10 years now and fine tuning STILL kicks my ***. i have learned alot though, and have a much better understanding on how they operate (on holleys at least)

the efi is definately better. faster response time. and apparently they are more easily adjusted from what im hearing. i know a thing or two about carbs. but if someone wants to email me more about the stock efi system i would appreciate it.

EFI over Carb for a daily driver.
There is no denying this. "Old school believes that CARB is better" (that is correct).
OEM started switching over in the 80's for this very reason, despite carb being cheaper!
I love the "sensors."
A carb CAN be faster than an EFI unit, assuming both tuned to the max.
