Default Rust Repair

ive got a few rust spots on my car...i know the quarters are horrible but i dont really care because i know im going to cut and replace them along with the rear hatch...theres a few surface areas that ive sanded and primered myself but the bad spot is on the doorjam area on the passenger side i put the links to the pics so if anybody knows how bad it is or an idea of how much to fix it id appreciate it...i refuse to quit on this car its my first and i love it

First off, take another pic but from farther back so we can get a better picture of the area you are wanting us to see. You will probably have to cut a small patch and have it welded in. That is too big for just body filler alone. You could make it work but it wouldn't be the best repair with filler alone.

Looks like the best way would be to cut the rust out and weld in a patch panel. Can you get a picture from further back?

I have a door jamb frame that you could cut up and use as a patch if you are interested.....

If I were you, I wouldn't take the side ground effects off...you might be suprised, in a bad way. Like I said, i have a door jamb that would fix that right up if you can cut and weld. The rust hole is only part of the problem, I would bet thatrust runs at least an 1" (probably a lot more)around what you can see under the paint.
