is there any way to test the IAC? my car surges and i have a feeling its the IAC but i dont want to buy one if its not the problem...the throttle is clean and a has a new TPS so i know thats not the cause

 

try disconnecting it. If the surging stops it should be it.

 

there should be an ohm spec on it. However I don't know what it is. but ewgoetz's method should work.

 

i tried that method....if i unplug it the car dies out

 

found the spec. 7-13 ohms.

when u first start it what does it do?

 

there are two things it does...sometimes ill start it and it will surge about 500 rpms for a while and then settle down and idle fine...other times ill start it and it will idle fine and then oncei start drivin it will start surging once im at idle
