if your using an off the shelf piston where you can not dictate skirt taper like if you were having a custom piston made, the the 3.250 crank works great in the boss block. Its very stout, heavy as hell and will hold alot of hp. They can be had for 1500 shipped, ford will dropship for free over 1500 dollars. That being said, the darts are very nice as well. I dont really have a preference, they both work great.

The things I liked about the boss over the dart are small, o-ringed and screw in freeze plugs and oil galley plugs. You'd think dart would do that too...

I think I'm probably going to get a dart for when I need a new block. I want to go 347 and I'm not sure about how well the boss will do with a boosted 347.

I have actually spoken to, and had some dealings with some very well known professional engine builders.

The DART block was the choice of each one and they sold both the BOSS and DART.

A DART block is THICKER.

The dart block has billet main caps where the boss has cast. You can get a dart block with machined mains, 4.020 bore ready for hone, and very little machine work left from adperformance for $2000 shipped. Thats a great deal if your looking for a high hp motor. If your building a low hp motor a standard block may be more what your looking for since its about 75 pounds lighter.
