Default taking out back seats waste of time

I'm sorry but taking out your back seats is waste of time. I just unbolted the rear seats which was kind of a pain and was dissapointed that they didn't weigh more! I figured with the brakets attatched to back rests and everything it would weigh in at least 50lbs. I probably just only shaved 15-20. My spare tire weighs more than the seats do. I know every little bit helps but I don't think It'll do much anyway.

I'm racing tomorrow thinking I'll save a little weight hoping to hit high 13s with my new mods. I just ordered my steeda but I won't see that for a few days.

...you're hoping to hit 13's with only 390 gears? no slicks or anything else but the mods in your sig?

Isn't a balance of front/rear weight something to consider when reducing weight. Everyone knows foxes are nose heavy, so wouldn't taking weight off the back create and imbalance.

if he cant hit 13's with 3.90 gears, he needs a new driver mod!

I was running my cobra to a 14.0 @101 on STOCK GEARS, stock engine, stock tranny

he should have a much easier time getting it off the line than I did.

to the OP

Remove your front sway bar... it helps

I have a fiberglass hood so that should equal out front and back. lol
I pulled a 14.5 completly stock with just the timing done. I also had worn out motor mounts.

So since then I've done I believe to be enough including BBK subframes that's not in my sig.

The only thing thats holding me back would def be my tires and worn out suspension. So we'll see if I'm good enough to be what you guys call driver mod. I'm hoping the showers hold off. I'm also going to race my friends 00 Gt with minor mods but he just installed 4.10s so I don't know. I also know he has better top end than I do.

yea but you're pushing more ponies to the ground than he is and with overall a better platform that you stared with. also with such a steep gear ratio if he's not careful his 60's will blow because of the fact he's on street tires. if he throws some DR's or slicks i wouldnt question the time's he's wanting.

depends on what you like . I took mine out cause i was tired of carting around a boat load of people and having a knee in my back all the time! and i wanted to do something unique cool looking so i built my own rear seat delete kit, It looks good, and still saves weight!!!

I dont know i think i did a damn good job for being only 17 when i did this WHich was 3.5 years ago lol

Custom stuff is cool! But that wouldn't work for me when I have kids. Plus it seems it added the weight back in there. Kinda defeats the pupose but it looks clean.
