running it through the lt headers?? i can't heat them to dimple the headers because they're ceramic coated $$. Has anyone thought about bending the ears on the steering knuckle itself for added clearance??

when i did my shorties, my steering shaft rubbed abit. i contacted bbk and they said to loosen the four bolts on the steering column and slide it in/out to get more clearence. this worked for me but i dont know how muchclearence you need

i've decided to replace the motor mounts tomorrow as thet desparately need it. the bbik long tubes do not allow enough room between them to move the steering shaft in between them at all so that idea is out, but i my end up lowering the steering knuckle itself as well for added clearance. thanks guys

gotta take the steering column out and runit through the headers had to do it to my brothers car
That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard and not necessary!!

You most likely need new motor mounts. Or, you can shim the drivers side mount w/ a couple of flat washers to raise the side slightly. that's what I did until I was able to replace the mounts.
exactly what i had to do. my motor mounts were old and worn. replaced them cleared the headers.

Going to replace the motor mounts tonight, hopefully the clearance issue will be solved for good. Thanks for all the ideas.
