RPM float while shifting?

RPM float while shifting?
I was wondering if this is a common "problem" or occurance or if it is some wierd thing the factory did to make shifting easier.
Whenever I go to shift and push in the clutch, the rpms jump up about 2-300. Its annoying because I know its wasting some gas and it also makes me release the clutch diffrently than I prefer.
If its not something thats supposed to happen, is there a fix for it? Stickey throttle return spring?

RE: RPM float while shifting?
It is normal. It is from the IAC....just how it works. If you unplug you IAC, turn up you idle so it will stay running, reset your TPS, it wont do it any more, but then there are other issues like starting it cold.

RE: RPM float while shifting?
i have come to like it
ive noticed from driving the mach where the RPMS drop immediately, it makes it ALOT easier to shift fast and keep going
at first it was annoying though

I suppose Ill let it warm up tomorrow and unplug it to see how I like it.
I dont know about you fuzzy dice, but I shift fast and I feel that it impeeds on a smooth shift.

Yep the IAT will start to hang (Like getting off the highway and rpm drops to *only* 1800) when it starts to get dirty. I unplugged mine and yes on anything cooler than say 45-50 degrees it complains a bit.
