Unhappy picking the right transmission

I recently decided to go twin turbo and am rebuilding my 5.0 to handle it. I dont want to chance puting the engine in with a junkyard t-5 and grenade the whole thing, so its decision time. I know the t-56s are stout and d&d makes a kit to install into a fox, but the kit is like 4200 bucks, my whole engine isnt costing that much. my thought is i could use a tr-3650 (ive seen them on ebay for less than 800) but i am unsure if the bell will fit to the 5.0 block. I need somthing that will handle the 5-600 hp this beast will make, but I dont want to break the bank either, any help would be appreciated.

put a built AOD in it and be done with it or a built C4 but the turbos work on C4s. it will run faster and be funner to drive then a stick. big boost and sticks dont get along IMO. Most guys I know that run lots of boost or big HP run autos. just think with the auto you are not letting off the gas so boost is always there. Trust me on this I run a C4 in our car. I dont have much time to shift gears when that thing comes up on boost on the street and it takes both hands to drive this thing. and that is with 28in tall tires and 3.31 gears. and I run ET streets at all times.

the t3650 wont bolt up to your 5.0.

the case and bellhousing are a single unit that bolts to a 4.6.

AOD's hold up well with boost. More surface area on the clutches than c4's. Plus, you can keep your O/D if you plan to drive it on the street. I went to AOD for the same reason you want to switch from a t-5

yes the AOD has more clutch area then a C4 it also take more horse power to turn it by far. and the cost is just plain sick for a good one unless you can do it your self and even then the good parts cost you. Also so remember he is doing a turbo motor he wont need to run big gears any way so OD is not a real big thing. I can run 70mph and tack 2600 rpm with our c4. no it still not OD but it is not real bad. Don't get me wrong if you got the $$ the AOD is the way to go or if you can do your own. I am getting ready to do one for my self to try out I may even do a AODE so I can lock the conv. up when I want but now we are talking big $$ due to having to get the controller for the trans. so for low buck and still work well the C4 is the ****.
