Default Question about the PCV

Is the PCV hose from the valve cover to the throttle body really that important? at this point im a little worried about losing oil through there due to not having a baffle in the VC, is there any way i can prevent this, can i just block off the lines, longer hose ( i saw a guy with a 93 cobra that had like a 3 foot PCV hose over looped around his MAF and back to the throttle body, he said it was something to do with this problem

I would deffinently keep it. It keeps the engine from having fuel and contamination in your oil. with it blocked off could cause dirty oil sludge. It vhentilates the cranckcase.

Just cap it off and run a breather in the valve cover.

"dont install an open breather to any of the valve covers if the PCV valve setup is kept. This will cause an Unmetered Air (vacuum leak) condition due to air from the atmosphere been sucked into the crankcase. Fresh air intake to the crankcase (specially on MA EFI systems) have to be sourced from the air volume metered/measured by the MAF (reason for the OEM breather hose from the oil tube to the TB on the RH valve cover). Otherwise, a lean condition + idle control problems are likely to occur. If you want to install breathers, the PCV valve must be removed so an unmetered air condition is avoided."
