wow, some of you have really bad stories, lol
the good thing is it seems like, just like the last time, a bit is protruding from the block. so hopefully a pair of vice grips will remedy the situation, but now i need yet another timing cover/front oil pan gaskets, etc
knowing my luck, whats left of the old coolant in the block will have rusted up by now and ill need a new block
which of course if that happens, i guess ill just buy a reman, its only ****ing money
i guess i need to be in a better mood about this though, it could be ALOT worse

Dont feel bad, your not the only one who has done this..
i have had 3 motors in my car so far now.. and twice i had that happen to me..
its a sick and disgusting feeling.. it was always the wrong gasket when it happened to me.
happened to my brother on his 302 truck too...
hang in there.

i had one, its a long storym but if you know what im talking about youll get it
there are 4 studs that hold on the water pump, 3 of which serve as mounting points for the AC bracket, one is inherently useless. The two short ones that thread into the timing cover, and 2 long ones that go through the T/C and thread in the block. Basically, one is longer than the other, i broke the shorter one, went everywhere to get it, but accidentally matched it to the longer one, not remembering they were different lengths, and i ended up with new ones of both. the one that broke was the NEW longer one, so i still have the old one
now im waiting on the timing cover gasket...
