Flywheel help
Ok so i got a billit steel flywheel but it weighs 2.5lbs more then the stock one would the extra weight be noticable? And what do you suggest i do?
Also is the weight on the back of the flywheel balance the motor or does it matter where the weight goes?
Thanks

so does anyone know what size of weight comes on the stock flywheels? And if i were to order and aluminum one what size weight i would need?
And also is there a way to tell where the weight needs to be?

Here's how it goes i had the same problem and did a little research behind it. In 1982 the mustang 302 engines switched from a flat tappet cam to a roller cam and the firing order changed to the same firing order the 351 has and that changed the old 302 into the h.o. (high output) 302 what also changed was the flywheel weight it went from 28oz to a 15 oz counter balance or the other way around. Anyways If u have a flexplate or an old flywheel that was originally with this engine u could take that to a balancing shop or somewhere the make fans near you and u can get that balanced to the right balance u need without it your engine will shake its self to death. If u don't have one find out what year your engine is and the correct balance.
