IMHO, a mechanical roller cam will make more HP than a hydraulic even if all the cam events were the same just because you don't have all that oil pressure pushing on all the lifters.
Only thing is, mechanical rollers need springs that are a little more $$$ than the others and many of the folks building stuff nowadays don't like the idea of checking valve lash ever.
I grew up with it so I don't think it's any big deal.....

thats horrible to me i was very dissapointed, but thats also with an auto on a mustang dyno, i was still dissapointed tho.

something isnt right with your combo. that combo should be at least 350-360 with the auto

Mike, with the solid roller you can take advantage of heavier springs and then run the ramps much more aggressive open the valve faster and more lift and close it faster if needed. so yes you can make more HP with a solid roller.

I guess it comes down to what are you willing to give up. drivibility the car running snotty down low are you willing to spin to higher RPMS. you know how it goes sometimes you have to give up something to gain But I think you could gain a good 30 HP maybe even more. with out giving up to much or give more and gain more. Maybe call Comp. Cams Tech and talk with them they would know more about it then most of us.
