Default 302/stroker combo questions....

Okay bear with me on this, im not at a supreme level of conciousness...

i PMed Woodsy, but he is probably busy and hast responded

my question to you guys is. What, in your opinion, is the best setup to make a high power, high revving V8.

Back story: Once we finish/sell the chevelle, me and my dad plan to build a road race car. Im thinking 3 inch fender flares and some 17x12 wide wheels/tires, the works. Im trying to figure out a good engine/drivetrain combo...

For the engine. The plans: at least 400 crank horsepower. and i would like to rev the thing to at least 8000RPM, and make GOOD power through as much of the range as possible. Im thinking a 331 would fill this nicely. but i need to know what i need to safely rev it to 8k+ (9 would be nice, lol, but im sure thats just me dreaming) Im thinking some AFR 205's, a Performer Intake (Air Gap probably, highly likely ported, if not something better) Im under the impression a flat tappet cam would be in order for the high rev-ness is this true? plus anything else i should know. Ill probably try for some high compression goodness to be run with race gas, but i dunno, maybe maybe not, id like it to be streetable

gracias senors

a mexican block would be better than the stock block ,but i dont think that itll last that long revving like that=dart block or windsor based

and a solid roller would be the way for the higher revs

and 3 inch fender flares on a stang ...wtf is wrong with you....lol.

its not a wide body kit, its fenders and QP skins that give added clearance to fit more meat=very VERY good for road racing

i think it looks badass, it would be gay if it had those and like, stock 16x8 inch ponys

you would need a aftermarket block as any stock block wouldnt be able to survive the revs and how constant the revs would last.

you would want something like a supervic and parker funnel web

afr 205's would be a good choice

also you would want a tlsr
