how much labor for gear install?

Default how much labor for gear install?

I will be getting some 3.73 for my 89 lx from blueovalindustries.com for about $150. i called my mech and he said labor is gonna be about $300. would that be close to what is normal. i really have no idea. i was gonna call a few other guys later this week for a quote. but what did you get yours done for? i live in VA. thanks

as long as you trust him id say thats a decent price..i got out easy on my install..i worked with a guy whos been a gearhead for 30+ years and has set up numerous rearends..he helped me one saturday and only charged me 150.....but for a regular mechanic id say go for it..you'll not be disappointed afterwards!

WHERE IN VA are you located, I do gear installs also, with the gear kit you need the install kit.

with everything that I got (including rear and labor) it cost me $1200 to get mine built

really^^^?? I rebuilt a guys t-loc and whole rearend and installed gears for right around 500.00, he supplied parts, so my guess is it cost him close to 800 total??
