how much labor for gear install?

with everything that I got (including rear and labor) it cost me $1200 to get mine built
holy shyte thats a lot of money!!270 bucks right here baby!!! parts only

i'll happily add my saved 900 bucks into more go fast parts

Sounds about right. I paid $500 for FRPP 4.10's parts and labor in January.

I'm looking to have some gears installed in my rear. I called Colorado Mustang Specialists (because I really don't know any other speed shops in the Denver area) and tell them I want them to do a gear swap, I told them I'd bring them an Auburn 31 Spline LS Diff, gears, axles, and everything, the friggin guy tells me is gonna be like 7 hours labor and quotes me almost $700! I said no thanks...first off if it takes them 7 hours to do it they don't know what the hell they are doing, secondly, since when is labor costs almost $100 an hour????? I'll find someplace else

shop average now i think is 85-95 an hour....at least it is here i know.

if you were having them rebuild the whole rear end then flat rate is 5.9 -6.8, and labor rates vary but around here it is 85-105 depending on the shop....but hey auto repair is like prostitusion.....there are plenty of other ****** down at the other end of the street that'll do the same thing for you just cheaper...but remember, you often get what you pay for
