Default spool questions

i've already asked about this once but im going to ask again.

my neighbor has a fairmont with a built 302 and he runs a spool in the rear.

well when i rode in it the otherday to go to a car show i noticed it doesnt scrub or suff or squeal the tires around corners. i was told for sure it would. is it just the design of his suspension or what?

if i pul a strange spool, c clip elim. kit and axel kit....will i need to worry about scrubing, scuff or squealing of tires?

this isnt a daily driver, its just a fun car, weekend warrior and occasional track time. whats your input?

IMO, since it's not a heavy track car, I would spend the money elsewhere. Is your current rear beefed up at all now?

stock carrier, stock axels. 3.73's and new bearings. i'mtrying not to spend a tonnnn of money on the rear but ille doing some pretty hefty launches this coming up spring.

one reason i ask is the kit is only $650 for spool, c clip eliminator, and 31spline axels. it cost just that for a eaton/detroit locker, then you have to buy everything else.

what would be your suggestion?

31 spline diff w/ carbon fiber clutches 240.00 from BOI. Alloy brand axles from Summit, 225.00. You're ahead by 190.00

That's what I'm running.

I had spool on my other car. I'm much happier with my current set up which is eaton chunk and 33 spline mosers. I also had eleminators on the other car.....nearly impossible to keep from leaking. I pulled the axle several times and it would still leak.

Forgot to add that you have to cut the housing ends also.

i've got an explorer 31 spline tlok and yukon axles. all together including the 4.10's i bought i have less than 450 into my rear end. I have yet to install it but i'm sure it'll last through the abuse i'll be dishing out.
