Default Help with x-pipe / air pump hook up

I got half way through the job of installing a new Pypes x-pipe on my 89 and noticed it had no bungs for the air pump hook up. Do I need air injection on an off road pipe? Can I drive the car without an air pump eliminator kit or will it sound like a go cart? When I do get around to taking off the pump, what do I do with the air pipe on the heads? Please help before I throw a wrench. Thank you.

No you dont need it on an off-road pipe. The purpose is to burn unburned fuel in the exhaust system. To delete the system just remove everything and get a shorter belt and two 5/8"-11 bolts to put into the back of the heads.

Thanks very much. Any idea how short of a belt I will need?
