Default Exhaust temp probe???

Okay, i was talking with my boss the other day about his air plane..... since they need to adjust the air fuel mixture manually for the altitude, he said he has a probe in each cylinder exhaust port so he knows how hot the cylinder is running and can adjust with a mixture **** to get the right cylinder Temp. He said he has to keep the temp around 1500* to 1600*. Anyway, it got me thinking, why can't we do that with our cars to help us tune them? Maybe a good safety measure to make sure we don't go lean? What do you guys think about that? Might be cheaper and easier to than a wide band.

I seriously doubt that.

^^^^maybe so, but when your car burns a valve or piston from being to lean..it won't fall out of the sky!!!

That would just be 8 more things to clog up the engine bay. o2 sensors work well enough.....when you have them.

I don't want to put 8 in, just one, on like the # 2 or 3 cylinder.

Not too much money and I think it would be handy...this might be in my future.
