Default harmonic balancer install

My balancer is starting to wobble so I am going to put a new one on this weekend. Are there any special tools that I will need or is it just bascially unbolt old one and put new one one? i know if have to take the pulley off then get the big bolt off that holds the balancer on...will i need a pulley puller? anything else?

You will need to get a Pulley Puller ...some parts stores rent them! ...other then that, you can use your basic tools!

autozone rents the puller, they also have the installer but it is unnecessary.

i installed mine by hand and then gently tapped it on with a rubber hammer.

you'll need to remove fan assembley and shroud and pulley then 15/16 big bolt then a puller can be put on the balancer

and when you remove the big bolt..make sure you remove the washer too..because ive read numerous times where people didnt and ended up breakin pullers...but..yea pull the bolt..then washer..then thread the bolt back in and use the puller..and i also wouldnt recommend hitting it on with a hammer..shouldnt be necessary anyway..

I just bought my 95 GT Convertible and think my problem could be the harmonic balancer based on my reading. Whether in drive or in park, I detect vibration as I'm revving the car. Starts being noticed around 1800 RPM.

Does this sound like the harmonic balancer?

it could be....i could look at the balancer while the car was running and see it wobble back and forth...the rubber bushing was also starting to come out

Id park your car until you fix it. You don't want to kill the motor.
