Default crossmember question

I just got my new cross member, bushings and mount in the mail. The tubes on the ends that the bushings go into are not welded in place, is it supposed to be like this or do I have to weld it myself anyone know?

You have to get up under the car without it welded up, put it on, mark where the tubes are, then weld them. It should just slide around until you find where it is center/equal. i hope that made sense.

Fack, you'll find a way. Check out your local shop, it only needs like 3-4 tack's on each side. Shouldn't cost ya much, if anything at all . Good luck, get at er'!

My only concern is that it may move up and down and the tube is a smaller diameter then the hole so I think it may clang or something.

It says in the instruction to weld it (from ford at least). Not like blast the thing with huge beads or anything, just a couple tack welds on each tube. It's a universal member for all fox's, thats why the tubes are un welded. You have to get it where you want it, then weld it (on or off the car). If you can't find a welder than just flop it in, and have at er'. I'd get it welded in the future though, just my 2 cents (and fords ).
