Default Cowl Panel?

Hey guys I just recently took my 5.0 to a few different body shops to get some estimates for fixing the cowl panel (hood flew up). Now one guy says that the panel needs to be replaced and the other two guys say that they can pound it out and straighten it and it is definatly repairable. What the one guy said makes alot of sence...anytime you can avoid cutting parts out of a car you should...how do you guys fix this? New panel or straigntening the old one...?

Which way cost more? If they are good metal guys, I would have if fixed with out cutting. If they just plan on filling with bondo, go someplace else.

Depends on how bad it is. If the body shop knows what it is doing them they wont be cutting it out. It just has an *** load of spot welds to be drilled out. Post some pics of how bad it is.

I wouldn't have them cut it! a good body shop should be able to fix...you need some hood pins!

It depends on how bad it is if it has the metal all stretched out to the point where it is better being replaced then that's what I would do. there is a time to draw a line where the repair would not be has good as a replace but you cant get them from Ford anymore so. you may need to fix it or get a used one.
