keep in mind you might turn it into a bigger project than planned like i did, i started out with just wanting to put my 88 block in. then it turned into a hey i want my block and everything else to look pretty too. So the original few weeks plan turns into a few months plan. not that thats a bad thing, just keep that in mind... =D

Why do you need to pull the motor...I don't think painting the bay is that big of a deal unless your going to also go to the effort to hide wires and such.

200...300 = not even close...to remove and and install a complete long block with transfer of all necessary parts from old motor onto new motor ..from start to finish =15-20 hrs ..pending on labor rate can range from 1200.00 to 1500.00

If you have never done it before and the motor is going to be out for a while make sure you bag and tag everything. Mark all your connectors with masking tape and number them. Use a digital camera if nesscary. These few things will ease re-installation and chop of some time....especially if you forget where things go!

Here in Va Beach you would have to give a kidney, or your first born. Both in some places.

You're not telling me anything new, haha. Not everyone has the time, or place to work on it either so obviously the only thing they have to offer in exchange for the two things they lack is money. Assuming you want the job done right MOST shops will run you quite a bit, and that's just part of the business. You're paying for experience and a guarantee of quality work, and that's never cheap in any business... and the auto world already isn't cheap.
