How hard is pulling the motor?
How hard is it to pull the motor out of a 91 GT? I talked to a guy about paint and he said Id have to pull the motor myself. What does it intale and how long would it take? I guess you can say im not the most mechanically inclined person...
i would say anyone on this forum would be able to pull a motor out of a fox lol...because its not hard at all..basic tools and a engine hoist...which is significantly cheaper than those figures^^...and i guess the hoist isnt 100% necessary because ive pulled motors before without one..but just find someone with one and borrow it...really tho its just connectors, couple hoses, exhaust, undoing the motor mount bolts, depending on if trans is coming out or not undoing that...me personally id just remove driveshaft, and pull engine and trans as one..its really not tough even for the least experienced person

also forgot...its not necessary..but it does make it nice if you just remove the hood too..make some marks so you know where the hinges are an just have someone help you lift it off..in my expierences as long as nothings completely rusted solid..its nothin you shouldnt be able to handle in a night.
coulpe of vac lines, coolant hoses, few electricle connections, fuel lines couple of mechanical connections(clutch throttle ect.) exhuast, motor mounts trans mounts and remove drive shaft. couple hours and a few beers later and its out
..is that so???? FYI....not everyone has the ability or know how to do a proper repair in their backyard, nor is every car like the 5.0.....so we'll leave it at that
..........as for pulling the motor the degree of difficulty for one will depend on your mechanical knowledge/capability and access to the necessary tools to perform such a repair, if you have a motor that is ready to pop in that needs no distributor timed up then installing a motor will be as simple and unbolting the old one and bolting in the new one and bleed the cooling system and making sure you reinstall the new motor with all connections and grounds back in the same places
