yeah don't be so cheap next time and spend the 15 bucks it costs for a new switch...install a new one and it should solve the issue

Since you replaced the switch with another that seems like its the problem. I would get a multimeter and test the voltage going into the window motor with the switch in the up and down position. If you get power in one direction and not the other them you need a new switch. If have power in both but movement in only one the you need a new motor.

you might be able find replacements at junkyards
I found a new switch for mine there. ( the little white arrows on the buttons werent worn off too! =O )
