Default Shedding weight

what all can be taken off and cut out of a fox body to shed as much weight as possible without sacrificing the structural integrity of the car? And also without breaking rules of nhra. Obviously the pass seat and rear seat, I am talking more on the lines of metal work. What can be cut out and refabed like in the engine compartment and what not.

Cut holes in the bumpers. They are covered up by the bumper covers.

And none of that breaks the rules for nhra correct? There are a few thngs that i will be adding back in that will add some weight but as i learned with my bike, every little bit of lbs helps! Can you post a pict of the inside of what your car looks like? I am a super perfectionist so I will have to find a way to make it look nice inside the car rather then a beatup old metal box.

i dont know about the rules. it was just some ideas i had one day when i was bored. As long as you can meet the safety requirements i dont see why you couldnt unless you were going for a certain class

You should try,

Taking out the spare tire in the trunk

A/C Delete kit

Grant steering wheel (the stock one on my '92 was like 3 times as heavy as the Grant)

Back/Passenger seats.

Definetly get the notch, a GT is about 100lbs or so heavier because of the body kit I believe.

Aluminum driveshaft maybe?

Draglites, etc.
