Default Good struts for a 5.0?

Im looking to replace the struts on my 93 GT but id like to know what brand Ford used. Im trying to keep everything as original as possible. Ive heard some say Ford used Tokico? Found a pair of new Gabriels for cheap but are they a good brand? Im not looking for adjustability or anything fancy as this is a street-only daily driver.

Thanks.

I put the Gabriels on my daughters stock '91 GT and they're working out excellent! ..as stated, can't go wrong with the KYB's for the money!

My 83 has a set of gabriel red ryders in the rear and they are working out nice. I don't have a clue what is on the front though. They are all corroded and old so who knows lol.

Ford used motorcrafts.. I think they were made by the same place that makes generics for autopart stores. As been said, KYBs are a great stock replacement, I had some Gas-a-justs, they were great for DD mode. Now I switched to KYB AGXs, a little more aggressive

Monroe sensitracs are a good strut. I've got M S shocks in back, fronts are factory.
I have the sensitrac shocks in the front of my ranger and they feel real good (and have about 100K on them)

Good price as well. (I can't comment on other brands though, Monroes are all I have used due to availability.)

One good way to get a good strut (providing you use 94+ spindles) is to find a set of low mileage shocks and struts from a 03-04 Mach1. I had a customer bring me his 04 Mach(2500 miles) and he wanted to do a suspention upgrade. He Bought Tokico shocks and struts. Turns out it's the exact set of shocks and struts be already purchaced but they were blue and the factory ones were black. He insisted on me swapping them out and he gave the old ones to me because he just didn't want to mess with them. They are on my car now.
