Angry Mac Muffler Blowout!!

The last couple of days I started to notice a slight exhaust leak on my passenger side and I thought it was the midpipe and flowtube comming loose but NOOOOOO.......

On my way back to work I went around a corner that is a little ruff and heard a metal clunk, ok no big deal my car makes noises all the time. I get it out on the highway and I hear a slight boom and a thud at the same time and then the sound of an open pipe. I said to myself D*** IT what happend this time. Well here you go.
MAC Produmps, flowtube is welded on out of the box

Nope I am gonna reweld it this weekend. Its an easy fix. I just never expected that to happen. After my next tour to iraq I am buying a set of flows like I originally wanted and probably putting these on my 98. that will be a loud v6

The weird thing is I never scraped my mufflers on the ground, just the front of the hpipe a couple of times. I wonder what stresses caused it to break apart like it did.

how'd that happen??? do you have all exhaust hangers in place to support the exhaust?? or are the mufflers just old??

I have the hangers at the mufflers and the tail pipe hangers but I am not using the hanger at the crossmember. It would cause it all to hang to low and I didn't feel like shortening the hangers to bring it tighter to the body.

The whole exhaust is only 10 months old. I bought the h pipe and pro dumps after I got back from iraq in jan.

I had a 88 vert that I had that happen to in 1999 with a set of flowmasters. No crossmember hangers on mine either, but it did have turndowns so only 2 hangers. Back then I think the exhaust guy said it was the motor mounts. I replaced the motor and trans mounts and it cracked again. I think it was the right muffler.
