which would I see more hp and torque out of or is it just the way I would build them. I have a w/block and i'm thinkin about boring .030-.060 over and putting some 351C heads on it unless I'll make more hp with the 347
What intake and headers are you using with the cleveland head? Thats the first thing you need to figure out. Also you need to consider the cleveland piston in a windsor build

If it wasn't for the fact I could hide the cubic inches and pass my engine off as a 302 I would have built a 351 sporting some big cubes. I would say the cost in building a 400+ 351 based engine and my 347 would have been within a few hundred dollars.
Back in the 70's the Cleveland was all the rage becuse they had good heads that would breath. Now you can buy off the shelf windsor heads that will support a lot more power than any Cleveland head ever would.
Either one is a good choice but the Windsor block is stronger and more cubic inches will make more torque.
The 347 is light and will make good power and can conceal a lot of punch in a small package.
Money wise it's so close that depening on your parts you could get out cheaper.
