Default 5 Lug Bolt Pattern Sizes

Are the 5 lug patterns on most brake kits and rims intended for ford use the same size?

In other words... I have a 5 lug/4wheel disc conversion from ford racing, the cobra r conversion kit. Obviously I need new rims before I do the conversion. I'm about to order a set of Saleen SC rims, the ones in late model resto catalog. They just say 5 lug bolt pattern, is this going to fit? I'm not at home so I can't measure the bolt pattern's actual dimensions on my axles/hubs.

Like was said 5 X 4.5 on Ford Cars

If you want to measure the bolt patten on a 5 lug axle or wheel place a tape measure in the center of a stud (or hole) and skip a lug stud and measure the center of the next. In other words if you were to number the lug nuts in a clockwise fashion 1-2-3-4-5 You could measure to #3 or #4 and have the measurment.

It's actually from the edge of one stud to the center of one away. I always thought it was center/center until I was managing a NAPA and a custom rod guy came in with an axle. He told me what it was, I looked in my book to get it for him, and was a quarter inch wrong.

You are absolutly correct, I was thinking from the left side of my brain today. I've had to correct some people on the same thing 100 times myself. After I saw your post I had to slap myself and I was like, God why didn't I read over that,Just goes to show we all have our off days, lol

Thanks for correcting my blunder. Now I feel like an idiot
