Hi, i'm getting 2.5" exhaust installed on my fox next week and want to know if i can run it with no mid pipe.. i already have SLP LM2's and 3" polished tips. so would i be able to do this or just pick up a O/R H or X pipe dunno which one will sound better with these mufflers..

thanks in advance.

I have a catted bassani X with SLP Loudmouth II's and personally I really like the sound! it's a somewhat unique sound!

I usually see an X-pipe with straight through style mufflers and H-pipes with chambered mufflers. Use an X-pipe with you SLPs.

The one thing also you may want to consider is... A friend of mine had an off road x and it sounded much more... high pitch? definitely not the classic deep! the bassani catted x's have a deeper tone in my opinion! I like the unique sound! you may not?

you need some sort of pipe there to connect to the catback, I like the x-pipe

I don't like the idea of paying over 150 bucks for a mid pipe.. I just want to know would it be okay to run with no mid pipe (doesn't have to be legal)? I thought i saw cars at the strip running with just pipes straight back until the mufflers (older mopars) and they seemed fine.

I don't really care about the sound that much just as long as its decently loud

Just get some high-flow cats...can't go wrong with a X or H pipe IMO

I'm going to be getting it custom done with uncorked headers for when im at the strip I just wanted to know if it would be bad for the engine to run exhaust with no mid pipe, as far as i know it would be fine.. but just to make sure.

uh... I'm not horribly experienced with this... but I believe the point to the mid-pipe is getting adequite back pressure... the straight pipes I believe are fine.

"You can optionally choose to go with a true dual exhaust system consisting of no mid-pipe, but this will require some fabrication of piping to replace the now omitted mid-pipe."
A quote from here http://www.stangnet.com/Tech-Article...eakdown-3.html so I believe it's fine
