No mid pipe?
#11
uh... I'm not horribly experienced with this... but I believe the point to the mid-pipe is getting adequite back pressure... the straight pipes I believe are fine.
"You can optionally choose to go with a true dual exhaust system consisting of no mid-pipe, but this will require some fabrication of piping to replace the now omitted mid-pipe."
A quote from here http://www.stangnet.com/Tech-Article...eakdown-3.html so I believe it's fine

thanks for the info! i have open headers right now so the exhaust will be custom anyway.

WTF are uncorked headers? You would probably benefit from using a normal midpipe so it will equalize the pressure and a X pipe is made to scavenge the exhaust gas out of the cylinders better. Straight pipes just seem cheap to me.
Straight pipes are true duals, just called divorced duals.
I believe you will be happy spending the $150 for the midpipe. That is a pretty cheap expense when it comes to our cars.

its when you have exhaust going right to the rear and have curved off pipes right after the headers turning out.. then you unbolt the plate in front of the curved pipes and you have open headers..
im terrible at explaining sorry.
