Default Anyone Have Experience With This Tach ?

I figured I'd ask here since most of us have after market tachs, We have a 5" sport comp w/external light in our car.

But I would like one for my truck. Ford didn't put tachs in the 92 F-150s. So I am hoping one of you have seen this tach and might be able to answer some questions.

Here it is,

http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku

It's cheap, only $100 and I like that price compared to some tachs.

Now, any experience with that in dial shift light ??? Shift light isn't major but since it has it, just wondered if anyone knew how those ones were ?

And the mounting, does it look like the usual pedestal mount ? Or is it something different ? I wouldn't mind putting the bracket upside down and hanging the tach low you know ? This trucks my DD and so I don't need a big tach sitting up in the window lol, thus the 3 3/4

~Thanks

Well I ordered it. Should be here Tuesday since summit ships fast. Called them and said jegs sells it for $93 what can you do ? They gave it to us for $92. But summit also has a lower handle fee so it came out to like $102, not bad IMO , can't wait to install it lol.

Well, it's funny you say that, I had given some serious thought to it. I could get my autos teacher to give me a brand new Mitsubishi turbo, but the trucks my DD and I figure if I leave the motor pretty much stock it'll last a long time ( only other thing the motor has is a K&N Filter and a catless exhaust.)

Truck right now only has 68,000 miles, which for a 92 F-150 is damn good, plus the truck is 100% rust free,

So since it's so clean and has low miles I'd like to keep it nice. Next on the list is to delete the air pump ( ever since i had the exhaust done it whines since it just spins and doesn't pump anywhere now. ) And I want a tach since it doesn't have one and the motor isn't really made to run high, it's got the 4.9L 300 C.I. Straight six,

Thanks !

I've joked about rebuilding the other 5.0 we have sitting on a stand and then dropping it in the truck when finishing it, who knows.

Thats the plan, I've heard many cases of them lasting 300k + miles.
