Default Do you think your FOX is slow???

Well, MINE IS SLOWER....

And I can prove I may very well have the slowest V8 car on the forum

In the few months I've had it I've had a few casual race encounters.....

#1 I hung DEAD even with my friends 4.0 Ranger

#2 My girlfriend pulled nearly a whole car length on me in a 2004 2.7 dodge stratus....

Both from a dig.

#3 I got completely destroyed by a stock sounding 4.6 sn95 from about a 40 roll getting on the highway...

LMFAO!

Can anyone beat that? I hope not.....

I need some gears and bolt ons in a bad way.

The car runs great, had a rebuild 70k ago, doesnt burn any oil or smoke or seem to have anything wrong with it..... it's just **** slow..

End rant.

Wish me luck

gears, suspension, stickier/wider tires and it'll be a whole new animal.

after that, start your motor bolt ons.

Transgo shift kit, gears, subframe connectors, my new pony wheels, and an H pipe are first on my list.

Suspension wise... how bout some new rear lower control arms and a new set of KYBs? sound like a good start for a budget car?

yea control arms are a must! ease of application just go with solid ones, if you want to make the car as best as it possibly can be, some double adjustables are nice. course they are more money too.

KYBs are a nice jump up from the old stockers and will deff give you a ride change.

what kind of car do you want? just aggressive street? track car, drag car? agressive autox car? when you do suspension you gotta kind plan what your application will be cause you cant have it all.

I have a RX-7 with fully adjustable roll bars, illuminas, springs, poly bushings etc etc etc for autoX use.. and it'll snap off a mid-high 13 at the track.

I guess I just want the mustang to be a fun torquey street car. Sound good, big burnouts, scratch second hard with an auto. It doesnt need to handle and I don't wanna wind up with 10k + in it like I did with my last project (the 7) Maybe run high 12s by sometime this summer. for the time being I've convinced myself that'll keep me happy

Thanks for the tips, sounds like solid control arms are on my shopping list.....
