perfectly said...as ive been there done that and had to replace ball joints,axles,bearings,bushings and 2 front tires all in dealing with it...

im just going with a small 2.5 lift Im not looking for some offroad monster, just something that does well

im in new mexico btw, my mom and I were originally going to look at a powerstroke I had been eye balling, but the truck was gone, we were driving home when we spotted this. It was originally listed at 2950, but the guy hadnt gone through it yet, he said 2k right now and my mom jumped on it

I think you got the better truck, powerstrokes are dogs and expensive when they break.

Dogs???? no way, they are excellent for pulling, driven many of them, and if could fine one decently priced I'd get one, put a bully dog kit on one and see what a raging dawg it becomes

most diesel powered vehicles are like such, even my vw jetta diesel, the torque is what your after in them

I know they are torquey they are just dog's i guess because of the lack of hp. My dad took off in 3rd gear at a idle with a power stroke one day.

Sweet truck, very nice price.

They do well off-road in stock from. I just put some 31" BFG AT's on mine. Does it have a T-Lok rearend?

I would get some manual hubs if it doesn't already have them (can't tell.) They are great if you see a lot of street use. Also, I would leave the stock intack tract/paper filter in place seeing as you live in a dusty environment and plan on using it offroad. The stock air inlet is restrictive, but it sits at the highest possible point under the hood.
