ok jus wondering with u other guys with vert stangs . do any of your tops want to lift up at high speed lol . i kinda noticed today i was on clear open streth of high way and i wanted to open it up . i got my speedo to 140 but i know its off cuz c4 tranny with 3.55 gears but felt a hell of a draft and put my visors down and looked in between top and winsheild and well needless to say there was a gap there alll way across . and thats when i let out of it cuz that would suck **** if that damn thing broke lose at that speed . prob send me for a ugly ride or jus rip hole damn thing off lol.

 

never noticed it... maybe your hooks need to be tightened down a bit...

I think they just screw in. mines never lifted like that... I rarely go that fast ever... had it up to 100 a few weeks back... but that was just to pass a truck on the interstate...

 

mine are real bad, and ive tryed to tighten my hooks but i think they are somehow fixed in there?!?!

If the hooks will not turn, try spraying a little WD40 on them and let it sit for a few minutes. Then turn the hook around once. Try that and see if it fits tighter. If thats not tight enough turn it again.

 

The one my dad owned did but, mine doesn't. He bought his 93 in 96 and I got mine last year. Mine still has the original top. He rode with his top down a lot more than me. That may have something to do with it. After he bought his, he asked the GM at the Ford place about why it will not go up and he told him that they shrink or something after staying in the sun a long time with it down. The guy said one time they left them down at the dealership all day in the hot summer sun and at the end of the day, they couldn't get them back up.
