I just wanted to see where most people set their timing. My car is set at 10 and its a slug. Do I have room to advance it? How much before it began to ping using 91 octane?

 

I have mine at 15 on 89 octane no ping

 

...every Pony is a little different...try 12 deg. and see what happens! ...if it pings, try some 89 oct.! but, there's some power there for sure ...I run 14-15 deg. of timing with super unleaded with stock heads!

 

I run mine 13 degrees

 

I run mine at 10* and have plenty of power!!

 

I've always done mine by ear and how it starts up and everyone says I shouldn't do it like that but I haven't had any trouble out of it and I run 87(and believe me for what it has done to it, it's not slow

 

I run at 11, 12 = slight ping at higher rpm's. every stang is different, just adjust in increments of 2 and you should find a decent setting.
