Default new 3.77 gears

i purchased a 3.77 ford racing pinion kit for my 88 5.0. I was wondering what the stock gears are in the car, and will this kit make a pretty good improvment on bottom end.

You must mean 3.73's.

Check on the side of your drivers door, there will be a sticker there with info on it and there will be a letter rite under AX (I believe), take the letter and then research it on the net, not all foxes came with the same gears...

I had 3.27's stock on my '92 GT

when you pull the stock gears count the teeth on the ring and pinion and divide the two = ratio
