Default I'm New!

Hey there, my name's Matt and I'm new to the forum.

I decided that my Subaru is too nice and expensive to beat up on anymore, plus i've wanted a convertible mustang since i was 11.

So i bought an '87 vert! The thing's in great shape, except for paint and the LSD being worn out, and having 2.73's, and having an AOD

That being said, I need to get to work on making my stang faster than my daily so I'm not tempted to abuse it. So i'll need to get my stang well into the 12's, and i plan to do this with some junkyard engineering. Wish me luck.

I'm looking forward for your help and support!

Suspension, minor weight reduction, suspension, a few bolt ons, gears, suspension, and suspension should do you right

ditch the AOD, get some gears, then H/c/i and all supporting mods and 12's will be a breeze

Welcome dude, if you do it right 12's shouldn't be too hard to reach. I had a Subaru as a daily for a little while, every time i drove it hard i felt like i was going to break it. Not the case with Mustangs, they can take abuse.

Welcome! ...bolt up a supercharger and go right to the low 12's or high 11's!

Thanks for all the suggestions! I want to test my fabricating skills by obtaining my ~400p goal with a home made turbo kit.

although bolt-ons and some spray does sound tempting, i DO already have a turbo car....

all well, i have a simple question...

My friend has a 1970 5.0 vert that he just wants to cruise in, so i was thinking we could swap trannies! Does the c4 from a '70 5.0 and my AOD directly interchange? that would be fly.

also...

Is there an easy way to relocate my power steering pump to where my a/c compressor currently is to make room for my turbo?

Not sure about DIRECT swaps, but i know C4s work in 5.0s

as for the PS pump, there is an AC delete somewhere out there that relocates the power steering pump up to where the AC was, someone will have to grab a link, i dont know where to get it, i just know it exists

Welcome to the site! Ford racing sells A/C delete kits for $50. As long as the C4 is a 1970 and later model you should be good. There are two types of C4's, big bellshouseings (164 tooth) and small bells (157 tooth). If it is a small bell you'll need a 157 tooth 50oz flywheel for your car. Also there are pan filled C4's, and case filled. Don't know which is better. I hope I was some help, have fun with the build
