Default does anyone know the difference?

does anyone know how much differnet a t5 is to a t56 for a rebuild? is difficultly drastically different?

a friend of mine at work has a 95 z28 that she wrecked her tranny and the cheapest shop quoted her 1900 bucks for parts/labor and thats just for a basic rebuild, not if there is any damage. i want to take this side job since doin my t5 was no big deal, but i dont want to get in over my head doin this t56.

i hear yea mike, they are well aware im not familiar with the t56 transmission but they know ive done my t5 without issues. its the husbands toy and not a daily driver so there isnt a time related stress factor if i tell them i'll do it. but i'd like to save them some money and put some money in my pocket. plus it would be a reaccuring customer for me. he has lots of mods he wants to do but a lot of the stuff he cant pay a shop to do.

i can get ahold of a rebuild guide for it but i didnt want to waste my time if its a difficult transmission. i was just hoping its similar to a t5 and its simplicity. does you have any idea if its similar or know anything about them rebuilding wise?

d &d will have the manual/ guide online I believe, but pulling a tranny in those z-28's are no fun, Guy at work did a clutch in one and it was a pain

dude, to be honest i did my t5 just by feel i didnt really use a manual. i just got clearence specs online and i was golden. biggest concern was output shaft endplay and countershaft endplay. other than that its pretty straight forward on the t5.

mike i didnt wanna hear that!!! lol. well im gonna look at the rebuild guide and see how different it is. if its not too bad i may undertake the job. money is money...right?!?
