Ok so first off, I'm sorry if this thread was already beat to death way before I came to MF's but I have been sitting here for the last 6 hours searching through every and any article on google for help to no avail. And most of the articles found are links to automotive forums where people asked the same question I'm about to ask and then the thread ends up like 10 pages long with nothing but people arguing and the O/P question never gets close to answered. So please, no flaming, I have looked everywhere that is accessible to me. I bought a 220v 15 amp 60 gallon Air compressor to aid with the complete overhaul of my 5.slow. The only 220 outlet in my house is (you guessed it) my washer/dryer connection. I want to have one installed/install it by my back door near my car port. Does anyone have any personal exp. with this, or first hand knowledge in general? And trust me, I'm most likely going to end up having a licensed electrician come and do it. In that case does anyone have a guestimated price it would cost. The main breaker box outside is maybe 35 feet from where I want the outlet. I thought about just unplugging the dryer and using that outlet as this is not a temporary installation for my compressor but from what I have read most people seem to think that is a bad idea as well. If you have personal exp. with that method please share. Thank you guys for all of the info past, present and future. And again, sorry for most likely bringing up a zombie thread just to kill it again.
