I want more POWER!

If your stang made 340hp and you put a "126+ hp supercharger" on it, a perfect tune would be CRITICAL to engine longevity.
It's a coin toss at that level, but I'd do it if I where you. Find a good dyno shop and budget for time there before you start getting on it hard.

yeah, I really wanted to get it dyno-tuned when I put the motor in. But of course, I won't cut corners on that!! I promise that. You should see, just in general, how clean I keep my car. I treat the engine in the same manner. Dyno tune isn't really an option in my opinion; However, what about a chip? I think the proper way would just be to get it, bc down the road i'll get it anyways, ya know?

Not exactly sure what you mean.
But if a dyno tune isn't an option, neither is a 500rwhp blown mustang.
Sounds like you'll find a way to get it done right though....

Alex-7 = Sorry, i meant its not an option. Its just something you HAVE to get it done and factor into your budget, if your gonna be able to afford a supercharger. So, I'm only gonna drive it from my garage to the Dyno Shop. I guess I should have already gotten it dynoed since you guys are at me.
225hp is stock brand new (horsepower depreciates with an old engine though)
+
126hp/supercharger
=
351hp
So, whats the problem then, I'll definitely be in the 400hp range.

given that many people who dont regularly talk mods seem to overestimate their own power, this kid has done pretty well with all of your comments. how about we lay off of him about the 340hp thing now?
the 9:1 CR sounds ok if you only wanna go between 400 and 500rwhp. ur cardomain said its a forged internal crate motor correct? i dont wanna click it again lol. fquick is easier to read IMO.
if thats the case then yes, a vortech or procharger (doesnt really make a difference) will get you to where you want.

Just so you know, that crate motor you have is rated 340 Flywheel HP. Most cars lose about 15% of their horsepower to the rear wheels. So that means your car probably makes roughly 290rwhp. Only the best 302's can make 340rwhp with a Heads/Cam/Intake swap. Those motors would run a much better cylinder head and cam then comes on a FRPP crate motor.
ie. 2005+ Mustang GT's are advertised at 300hp but typically dyno between 260-270rwhp.

yeah, since my last post I went and investigated. This is a lesson I learned over 10 years ago. My engine is rated at 340 "bare" hp. If I were to take a guess, after I remove the smog, a/c, p/s, it'll run between 290-310. Take 40hp, it doesn't do much anyways. But "pennies add up"......
