thats whats going to happen if i decide against this idea. i just thought it would be unique. and actually i dont think it looks that bad. it would be far less involved then making a cowl.
So you're looking for 3 things; cheap, different look and clearance for intake.
Solution: Place cowl where you want it on the hood and mark around the perimeter. Remove cowl and place in dumpster. Fire up die grinder with a cutting wheel and cut along the lines you made. Remove cowl sized section of stock hood and place in dumpster along with cowl.
End results: Cheap(free actually), definitely a different look and obviously ample hood clearance for intake.
