Default Think It will work??????

I took the minimal approch on belt routing. I may need to draw up a diagram and put it in the glove compartment so I don't forget how it goes on, haha!!

I have a master selection of Gates belts leftover from my shop but had to special oder this baby.

I'll post up a few more pictures of recent progress in a few

I wonder if it will slip on the water pump pulley?

Bought one of Summits Holley carb universal throttle bracket. It mounts under the carb. I just knew it was going to need the old, grind, cut weld, bend, twist and paint but this was so easy a cave man could do it. Went on like it was custom made. Now I'm really scared, lol

my buddy bought the same thing for his 66 mustang vert and fit like a glove. we were worried too. worked like a dream.

as for your belt. i was going to do the same thing but on another forum a guy have slipping issues he was underdriven crank too so even less diameter on the crank to create tension. looks like you are underdriven too. i dunno. fire it up and find out. so im going the way lucky has his.

My belt is routed the same direction as yours is Portmaster. It works fine, I drive down the highway between 160-170 degrees. I have been running mine fore several months now also and I can still read the numbers on the back side of the belt. I don't think it is slipping, but anything is possible and if it is slipping, it's not enough to matter.

I can't come close to turning the water pump pulley by hand. But whats the worst that could happen, lol

Ignition box mounted. I made the fender plates out of a old Boy Scout reflector oven. I hope my son didn't want it. The wife says the door of the microwave better stay right where it is, lol

is there a mount where you could put a tensioner and get a slightly longer belt? you could bring that belt around the water pump a little more

No, I thought worst case I'd just put a bigger pulley on the bottom to get more surface area on the pump pulley.
