Hmmm. That sounds like a good one.
Whatya think the mustang makes? My uneducated guess is 400-450 rwhp max.
That's an LS2 GTO right? doesnt that come with 400 stock????

not trying to sway opinions, just trying to bring a little of my thoughts in
last time i checked an H/C/I 10lb boosted mustang makes close to 500, 450 at the VERY least.... its definitely not a childs toy at this point.
Also, that 400 hp is at the crank, look to about 350-360whp stock
also, I think the early torque hit of that nitrous might pose some bad traction problems for that stock IRS..... something to think about.. I think the mustangs rearend and gradual boost buildage off the line will definitely hook better.
lastly, gto weighs close to 4000 pounds. While the cobra is no honda, it is in the low 3000s... that is a huge difference.

Is the GTO auto or manual? Converter? What kind of race are we talking about? Both on slicks or street tires?

ALL of the mods on the GTO were posted..... sorry, i guess i did forget to say its a 6-speed. Like i said, the GTO is completely factory except for the headers, CAI, and catless midpipe. Oh, and i forgot, it does have an LS7 clutch. No slicks involved, both on drag radials.... and the GTO has been dyno tuned. It put down 377WHP without any spray.
The race will happen, but not soon. The cobras mine, and the engine is knocking BAD, its about to let loose. I'm tearing it apart in a week or two and rebuilding... pics of that will happen..
the GTO isnt getting the spray for a month, and the tranny has to be rebuilt (1st and 2nd are GONE). he has to get back home and install everything.
For now its just an arguement me and a friend have... i think my cobra would take it, when all things considered (weight, traction.... like said before, theres more to a race than POWER). If anything, a driver's race

Sounds more like a drivers race and would depend heavily on the tire the cars are running. The GTO might be making a little more power but it is heavier. Does the Cobra have the stock gear? If so that's going to kill it off the line.
