As I say this remember I am a Chevy guy at heart and the GTO is Chevy powered. The Mustang if it's got any kind of decent setup. The GTO's are heavy with bad weight transfer and just isn't a good car for drag racing. I love them but would stay off the dragstrip if I still had one. I've seen more than a few of them go down taken out by a N/A mildly modified Fox Body. I love the GTO and had a new one (2007) for about two months before I sold it. I drove it to deals gap (go there 3-4 times a year) and pulled my motorcycle with it. I took it through the gap and it handled great and out on the road it's powerful and fast. It's just not a drag car. Catch one at a 60mph roll on and you'll prob get your feelings hurt.
I'm going with the GM guy...that GTO (while being a sweet track car) sucks *****...lol, ok maybe not so harsh, but yea. the mustang is a strait line kind of car...point: mustang.
